Press Release dated July 16, 2009

aap without one-time effects, sales of the first half of 2009 are slightly below previous year’s

aap
Implantate AG, a medical technology company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the Prime Standard segment achieved in the first six months of the financial year 2009 - according to preliminary figures – sales of EUR 14.7 million (-10% to the first half of 2008).

Both periods still contain one-time effects. In the previous year, within an initial order from a global partner, we registered orders to the amount of EUR 1.6 million. In March 2009 we were able to sell a product that does not belong anymore to the core business in the amount of EUR 0.5 million. Without the consideration of these not re-occurring revenues, the sales of the first half of 2009 decreased slightly by 3%.

Within the cost reduction program, further measures were carried out in the second quarter. These measures should show first effects on the company’s performance during the current financial year.

For the second half of 2009, aap expects a recovery of the demand and along with the interest of global partner companies in aap´s research & development projects, improvements on the sales and revenue side.

The publication of the full aap Implantate AG six month report 2009 is scheduled for August 17, 2009.
